Do you have a hard time “feeling” your butt when you’re targeting them in the gym?
Do you struggle with low back pain and weakness in the lower body?
Is your butt just not growing despite all the squats and lunges you are doing? Having a strong butt does matter.
Not only that but knowing how to use it and activate it during essential butt training exercises is even more important.
It’s not uncommon to see someone who has been struggling with chronic back pain for years not knowing how to use their hips during basic daily tasks let alone while exercising.
If you have a history of low back and hip pain I want to challenge you to start giving your glutes more attention in the gym.
In this video, I am going to share with you 6 of my favorite overlooked glute exercises you can do just about anywhere!
Why Should I Train My Glutes More?
- The hips are the powerhouse of the body. The majority of all major movements begin and end in the hips.
- Sedentary lifestyles can lead to losing strength and “activation awareness” in the hips (also known as glute amnesia…which isn’t really a thing but relearning how to involve the hips is what we want)
- Weak glutes require more support from surrounding muscles which could cause unnecessary work from the low back to compensate.
- Proper Hip hinging is key for daily life i.e picking up objects off the ground like groceries, mulch bags, gym bags and small children. You want to have good movement mechanics and healthy hips to make these happen pain-free.
