4 Mind hacks that will directly impact your physical pain.

Posted on October 8, 2019 by William Richards

The power of the mind is a crazy thing. It can literally keep people in bondage, suffering from pain they waste time chasing their entire life. As a back pain sufferer, I want to address the mental side of pain and how refocusing and addressing some key areas can really make a huge difference in […]

Should I take pain medication before Physical Therapy (or any other therapy for back pain)?

Posted on November 12, 2021 by William Richards

This is a GREAT question I wish more people would ask because it opens the door to really taking control over your rehab. As a back pain sufferer, there is really only one thing you need to think about, beating back pain. You don’t care how or what you have to do, you just want […]

A huge mistake a lot of back pain sufferers make in their recovery.

Posted on March 31, 2018 by William Richards

Have you ever been stuck asking yourself any of these questions? Why am I doing these “exercises for back pain” but not getting any relief? I do my core exercise, go to rehab and/or practice my movement mechanics 3x a week. Why am I not seeing results?! Can you relate to any of these […]

Is it better to be super fit or a couch potato with back pain?

Posted on October 3, 2019 by William Richards

If you have been convinced by the fitness and medical industry that being in better shape equals less pain I am going to pop that bubble today. Both the super fit and couch potato have their own mountains to climb but are no different once they enter into the world of living with chronic back pain. […]

One of the biggest pillars to treating lower back pain is here: Core Essentials

Posted on October 3, 2019 by William Richards

The number one reason I started this site was to offer other back pain suffers hope and direction other than the typical medical system. I knew there was a way out and was determined to spend the next 7+ years of my life in the trenches testing and fine-tuning what worked and didn’t. My approach […]

The Best Core Exercises Can be the Worst for you

Posted on October 3, 2019 by William Richards

If you were to google “core exercises for back pain” right now you would get a couple articles from webmd.com and Spine-health.com’s site talking about generic exercises they prescribe to any and all who are willing to click and consume what they have to say. It drives me crazy because like any other normal human […]

Core Coordination is Simply a Happy Marriage.

Posted on October 3, 2019 by William Richards

Yesterday we talked about coordination and how back pain sufferers tend to spend way too much time focusing on strength. They think simply a STRONGER core will bring relief to their lower back. That’s wrong thinking that unfortunately a lot of sufferers pick up from their trusted medical professionals. I want to dive even deeper […]

What is King: Core Strength, Core Endurance or Neither?

Posted on October 3, 2019 by William Richards

This is a big topic I see butchered by a lot of people in the medical and fitness industry. We are told our core is weak by our doctors and other trusted health professionals so we head to the gym and start trying all these complex exercises or think adding weight to what we were doing before […]

About William

I made the decision over 8 years ago that I was not going to live by my physician's suggestions. After my ruptured disc diagnosis, I spent the next 6 years of my life researching and experimenting on my own body in search of a cure for my chronic back pain. Through nutrition, mobility, exercise and lifestyle design I have been able to make drastic changes to my chronic pain. Now I use my 10+ years as a leader in the health and fitness industry along with my personal journey of pain management to give you exactly what you need to find freedom yourself.

People beating back pain on their own!

"Again amazing video, I save all your emails in a folder! Seriously you are one of the very few people who get the cause of back pain for most of us with sedentary lifestyles!

Since following your guide, working with a good physio and strengthening my core, my pain has greatly reduced after 1.5 years of suffering."
-Mathew M.

"I absolutely love your website and videos. I have McGill’s books and have read innumerable online articles re back pain, but your descriptions, explanations and videos really hit it home with me. Thanks to you, I am on the road to healing after 2+ years of lower back pain. Thank you for such informative articles; not too long or overly complex and not too simplified either. Just right!"
-Michelle

"The first time I mashed the QL muscles with a field hockey ball and followed it up with the stretch in the door frame, it was like oiling a creaky door– it was almost instant relief. Since then, over the past month, I have continued to do the exercises and stretches on your site and they have helped so much. The other pose I do to “unstick” my back is the “happy baby” yoga stretch…that one in combination with these QL stretches have pretty much solved the back issues that have plagued me for years. So, thank you so much for this post."
